Equant and Nortel have partnered successfully for over a decade to develop our highly scaleable and adaptable network.

Based on Nortel’s industry leading Passport multi-switch, Equant’s network more than meets the unrelenting, global demands for bandwidth and flexible services through the largest network of its kind. Currently, there are over 1900 Passports installed in the Equant Network.

The Equant/Nortel relationship has developed significantly over the years, as Nortel has been a partner of choice in a growing number of Equant’s network services and solutions, such as ATM, Passport CPE, Contivity, IP, VPN, Security, and Shasta Broadband Service Node (BSN).

In July 2001, Equant and Nortel jointly announced the completion of a Global Solution Partner agreement, the first to be awarded by Nortel to a Network Service Provider and the highest-level certification awarded by Nortel Networks. This agreement provides Equant with access to the Nortel’s entire product portfolio and enables Equant to provide customers with Network Services, Nortel product such as Optical, as well as import, install, and maintenance services for fulfilling global requirements.

The partnership complements Equant’s existing portfolio by leveraging Nortel’s leadership in the area of converged networks. This GSP accreditation and certification ensures the highest level of service through the combined service strengths of both companies.
