Nortel Certified Support Specialist (NCSS)

Overview:
This designation certifies that the successful candidate can apply an entry level of technical proficiency required to install and configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot a Nortel solution/product. Support Specialist certifications for Application Development certify that the successful candidate can apply an entry level of technical proficiency required to write and debug applications for a Nortel solution. Support Specialist certifications for Database Administration certify that the successful candidate can apply an entry level of technical proficiency required to administer a database for a Nortel solution.


Target Audience:
Post-sales individuals worldwide who are responsible for:

  • Installing and configuring, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting a Nortel solution/product
    Analyzing and resolving routine technical issues (either locally or remotely)


Supporting other technicians (either locally or remotely, such as field technicians) who are experiencing routine technical issues

Demonstrated Skills:
A candidate who is minimally qualified has these characteristics. In general it represents approximately three to six months of relevant or related work experience.


  • Has quantifiable hands-on experience installing and configuring, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting a Nortel Networks solution/product
    Can, with minimal assistance, install and configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot basic solutions/products
    Can apply knowledge of the topics tested to solve common customer support issues in most routine situations


Can work alone, without close supervision, although he or she may be part of a team
