Technology Expert (NCTE)

Certification Goal:
This designation is technology focused. It certifies that the successful candidate can apply an intermediate to advanced level of technical proficiency required to plan, design, engineer or support a converged network solution. It builds upon the Technology Specialist level competencies.

Target Audience:
Individuals worldwide who are responsible for:
Planning, designing and/or engineering a converged network solution.
Determining the right technology for the customer’s network focusing on interoperability of various standards and protocals associated with a converged network.
Providing assistance where necessary in the development of an implementation plan
Analyzing and resolving complex technical issues (either locally or remotely)

Demonstrated Skills:
A candidate who is minimally qualified has these characteristics. In general it represents approximately six months to one year of relevant or related work experience with a Converged Network.
Has quantifiable experience designing a comprehensive converged network solution
Can, with minimal assistance, plan, design, and/or engineer converged network solutions with intermediate to advanced complexity
Can apply knowledge of the topics tested to help solve customer design issues (multi-product, and/or multi-site) in most situations
Can work alone, without close supervision, although he or she may be part of a team
Acts in a consultative role to entry/intermediate individuals
